Really rich smelling. Flood of rich berry fruit and regional pepper earth. Light acid. Very smooth, lower

Tranquil Vale Chardonnay 2004 (Pictured right)
The Griffiths family have
been producing their own unique style of wines at Tranquil Vale since 1999.
They specialise in Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz, the Hunter Valley's stalwart
grape varieties and in a short time have developed an impressive wine
tourism operation there through their development of a vineyard, accomodation
and winemaking facility. This Chardonnay is a testimony to the fruits of their
efforts. Elegant and restrained at first then the subtle peach and melon
characters start to evolve. Light to medium weight and quite fragrant fruit
emanates. Hints of citrus follow, as does cashew nuts and some lovely fresh
acidity, making for a well melded drop. Delicious to savour with stir-fried
prawns.

TOP AUSSIE WINE
A typical and very
good Hunter Valley chardonnay with fairly full, developed colour and
flavour, showing toasty, nutty, rich fruit, lees and oak
complexities, smooth and layered on the palate, with balance and
harmony.
Drink soonest.
